The Sight of the Blind

Mar 6, 2022    Simon Clemow

Our text for today has four "courtroom" scenes. Four moments in time when the man born blind is called upon without relationship, compassion or forgiveness to defend his identity, his new circumstances, and his faith. Sandra Schneider in her book, "Written that you may believe," comments that... "the issue at stake in the 'trials' is not healing, or even healing on the Sabbath for which the man is not responsible since he did not ask to be healed, but profession of faith in Jesus as the Christ and embarking on the path of discipleship." This is a story not about what Jesus did for one person but about what it means should you decide to follow him.
