Pastors & Staff

Simon Clemow

Senior Pastor/Ministry Team Leader

Originally from South Australia, Simon came to Hobart City Church in June 2017 having previously been on staff at Churches of Christ Global Mission Partners, Doncaster (VIC) and Goolwa (SA). His call to ministry has always been around the question "what does it mean to be a vibrant follower of Jesus today?" Simon is married to Casey, is father to two boys and is the chew toy of a Groodle named Leo. Other than family and faith, he loves coffee, gaming, bonsai, 80-90s music, and the Tasmania JackJumpers (basketball).

Tamara Pilgrim

Associate Pastor - Emerging Generations

A West Aussie by birth, Tamara has spent much of her working life in the church and not-for-profit sector in Perth's southern suburbs. A love of The Church, community, people and the great outdoors bought Tamara, her girls and crazy cairn terriers to Hobart in early 2020. Married to Paul, they have a beautiful family of adult (and almost adult) kids spread across WA and Tasmania. In her spare time, Tamara loves renovating, upcycling, exploring the great outdoors and studying and dreaming of hope-filled communities.

Phil and Naomi Cooper

Worship Pastors

Phil and Naomi grew up in Hobart City Church of Christ, and were married here in 2004. Their kids also enjoy being involved in the church life.
Worship ministry and music has been a significant aspect of their lives and instrumental in their faith journey with God. They feel privileged to be able to lead God’s people in giving him praise and honour -  a role  they began in 2015.
Beyond church, Naomi plays netball and shows her creativity in scrap-booking and culinary skills. Phil enjoys futsal, playing computer games with the kids and developing his skills in music and production

Annette Broughton

Operations Manager/International Student Ministry Coordinator

Annette visited Tasmania in 2008 and quickly fell in love with the scenery, people and lifestyle. Her work experience includes medical practice management in Singapore and working for Youth for Christ. Tasmania provided an opportunity for her to train as a chef and marry a chef, Darin. Annette enjoys meeting people, sharing her cookery and catering skills for worthy causes as well as welcoming new people and helping them integrate into the local community.
